Esther Cheah helped Malaysia win the women’s team of five crown with a Games record 6,555 total for a six-game series, but had to settle for silver in the all events competition behind Choi Jin A of Korea on Friday 8 December.
The medals took Cheah’s personal haul at Doha 2006 to two gold medals and two silver, the 20 year-old having already become the first Malaysian to win the women’s singles and then claimed silver in the women’s trios.


BENG KHAI



National youth bowler, Khoo Beng Khai, is fast becoming a popular name among the youth bowlers.Today, the 20-year-old Penang bagged his second career individual title when he bagged the Milo International Youth Boys Open Masters title at the 34thCanon   Malaysian International Open Bowling Championship at Sunway Mega Lanes.
          Last December at the same bowling centre, Beng Khai won the Milo Junior All-Stars title. Beng Khai, a member of the national youth bowling team for the third year, had also notable success at the Asian Youth Championship last year where he won the team gold and double bronze medal. At the Sukma (Malaysian Games) last year he won the All-Events silver and bronze in the singles. At the Chinese Taipei Open last year he finished third.
